Artist/Educator

Paige Wright is an artist who primarily works with clay to investigate her fascination with the human mechanism.  She received her Bachelors in Fine Arts with an emphasis in ceramics from The University of Montana in Missoula in 2006. She has participated in artist in residence programs at the Carbondale Clay Center, Red Lodge Clay Center, The International Ceramics Studio in Kecskemét, Hungary, and Project Network at the International Ceramics Research Center: Guldagergaard, Denmark. She received her Masters in Fine Arts with emphasis in ceramics from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in 2012. Paige was brought back to her hometown of Portland, Oregon in 2013 to help start and run the ceramic production at Mazama Wares. She has held teaching positions at Grand Valley State University, The Oregon College of Arts and Crafts, Idyllwild Arts Academy, Clark College and currently at Radius Art Studio. She has also held facilitator positions at Pratt and Larson Tile and Lewis and Clark College. Recently her figurative work has been exhibited with Eutectic Gallery in Oregon, Imogen Gallery in Astoria, Europa Gallery in Seattle and The Chefas Projects in Portland. Known for her expressive faces and versatile building techniques, she conducts workshops and lectures around the country while holding Adult and Kid Fine Art classes out of her own studio The Wright Clay Studio in Portland, Oregon.
